Our story

ABRAPlp was created to implement the teaching standards of institutions for psychoanalytic studies taught in Portuguese, applied to the training of psychoanalysts who practice the activity outside Brazil. An outline of these norms was drawn up based on the American standard for training candidates for psychoanalysts, after studies and consultation with the community of interest. These norms were revised by a group of experienced psychoanalysts in the teaching and practice of psychoanalysis outside Brazil, all in order to reflect the contemporary reality of professionals who are in different countries working with Brazilians, listening and interpreting these people's feelings. ABRAPlp supports the practice of psychoanalysis for the Brazilian community that lives abroad, protecting, without a broader meaning of the word, psychoanalysts and those who show their expressions of suffering.
